Corrections Officer Trainee
- Must be 18 years old at time of application.
- No experience needed.
- 1 year on the job training.
Corrections Officer
- Promoted to Corrections Officer after 1 year as a Corrections Officer Trainee.
Sergeant
- Must be a Corrections Officer for 1 year to be promoted to Sergeant.
- Must take a Civil Service test for promotion to Sergeant. There is also an interview process for Corrections Officers who are interested in the Sergeant position.
Lieutenant
- Must be a Sergeant for 1 year to be promoted to Lieutenant.
- There is an interview process for Sergeants who are interested in the Lieutenant position.
Captain
- Must be a Lieutenant for 2 years to be promoted to Captain.
- There is an interview process for Lieutenants who are interested in the Captain position.
Major
- Must be a Captain for 2 years to be promoted to Major.
- There is an interview process for Captains who are interested in the Major position.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed
